Recommended Food

 

 

Hamsters aren't herbivores, they are actually omnivores. In the wild hamsters eat seeds, nuts, grains, insects, fruits, and vegetables. For a healthy diet, the food should have at least 18-22% protein, 8-10% fiber, and 4-6% fat. Anyhting less than that is not suitable. Also, be sure to look at the ingredients because hamsters can be allergic to certain ingredients. Take a look at my top foods: 

 

 

Vitakraft Vitasmart Complete Nutrition food:

My second favorite food is the Vitakraft Vitasmart hamster food. I always mix this food with Hazel hamster to have more of a balanced diet. I have recently been looking into purchasing this food to mix in with my hamster's diet. Obviously you can feed your hamster whatever you would like, but this is just a guideline of what you should feed, all of these foods can be found at your local pet store such as Petco and Petsmart.
